Drybar Arrives in Midtown Atlanta

Midtown Atlanta Drybar

Sipping on a glass of JNSQ Rosé Cru while enjoying a luxurious blowout, courtesy of that iconic yellow blowdryer nicknamed “Buttercup.” This was the scene on the Saturday afternoon that I lost my Drybar virginity.

I’m not quite sure how I’ve made my way into most of the other major blowout spots in town and NOT Drybar. (They actually have a location near me in Buckhead.) But, when the Midtown location opened in March, I was offered a chance to see what the spot is all about — and jumped at it! (And FYI, Drybar did host me for the visit.)

It was a sunny spring day, and the natural light in the salon was spectacular. The white and yellow decor is crisp, clean, and welcoming. When I checked in, I was offered (and accepted) a glass of rosé. (But, you can also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, or a glass of sparkling wine — they were kind enough to let me try this, too — or sauvignon blanc.)

While waiting for my appointment, I played with the interactive video wall that helped me figure out which products work best with my hair type. And before I knew it, I was whisked back for a brief discussion about the style I wanted (which was a hybrid of the Straight Up with a little bit of curl added to the mix). Next up, my hair was washed and conditioned. And then, it was time to get down to business.

My stylist was professional, friendly, and speedy. I enjoyed my glass of wine while she worked her blowdrying magic (and used a few of the rollers to help with the curl). Before I knew it, my mane looked spectacular. And thanks to Drybar, I was ready for a night on the town!
