Practice Virtual Yoga with Exhale’s Brianna
Matthew McConaughey. I’ve always loved the peaceful and calm way he speaks. That’s one of the reasons why Brianna Norton has been my go-to barre and yoga teacher for years.
OK, I know that sounds a bit funny, so let me explain. Long before she became my boss at Exhale, I was taking Bri’s classes. (She’s been the mindbody manager of our location in Atlanta for about a decade.) I can still remember my first class at Exhale (barre), which was also my first class with Bri.
She took us through challenging moves like a lengthy plank series, water ski, and small V — making all of my muscles talk to me. But, Bri did it with such a calm and soothing, but motivating, voice. I was hooked.
Eventually, I tried her power yoga class where Bri delivered a challenging flow that moved through poses like warrior B and tripod headstands. And, given the focus that it requires to balance and breathe through power yoga moves, this is where her signature laid-back voice really shines. I knew I’d found my go-to for when I need to be in the moment for an hour and tune out the rest of the world.
In the days when we were able to take classes at the studio, I would try to make it to one of Bri’s yoga classes and a barre class each week. But, when Exhale temporarily shut its doors in mid-March, due to COVID-19, I was left with two major holes in my weekly fitness routine.
That’s why I was so thankful that Bri started offering private classes and donation-based group live classes on Zoom. Each week, she offers a variety of classes ranging from barre to yoga over six days of the week. And occasionally, you can catch a class with Bri’s girlfriend, Tiffany (who has also been an Exhale teacher for years).
To try and adhere to my typical weekly Exhale schedule, I’m doing one of the group barre classes. And then, because I love a good private yoga class geared to the poses I like to work on (and that my tight muscles are screaming for), I’ve been indulging in a weekly private class, too. (If this sounds like an option you’d be interested in, contact Bri for pricing.) I’ve been so thankful for this little slice of routine that I’ve been able to hold onto during these days of quarantine.
