Your Road to Wellness: Kate Rosenow
Wellness is not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. We all approach it differently. And I think we can all benefit from hearing one another’s stories and strategies.
That’s why I’m launching the monthly “Your Road to Wellness” feature, which will highlight people from all walks of life and their thoughts on wellness. (Would you like to be featured or know of someone who would be a good fit? Let me know!)
First up, let’s hear from Kate Rosenow, CEO and business coach at Work Well With Kate.
Q: Who is your wellness inspiration?
This might seem offbeat for wellness inspiration, but Sara Blakely. She seems to manage business, motherhood and taking care of herself without taking herself too seriously. I love that! I think she's getting the most out of life but doing it in a way that works well for her, her business, and her family.
Q: What is one piece of advice you’d give your younger self about wellness?
I would have to say that taking care of yourself is not optional. When I was starting my first business, I took health and wellness for granted and I ended up in the hospital due to stress. Now I know that if you don't have your health, you don't have anything. It was a good wake up call.
Q: What do you typically do for exercise?
I'm a big long walker. I love to find a 90-minute podcast and hit the trails!
Q: What do you consider your greatest wellness indulgence and why?
My greatest indulgence is definitely massages and facials. It's my time to relax and I end up doing my best thinking there, too.
Q: What is your greatest self-care/wellness challenge, and how do you deal with it?
I never ever get enough water. EVER. It's terrible. The only thing that helps is buying cute water bottles that I want to use — so I actually use them.
Q: What resource (e.g., website, blog, book, etc.) do you look to for wellness/self-care and why?
FRESHJUICE + bubbly! And I also love following Jessica Ash on Instagram because I have PCOS, and it's important to me to manage my hormone issues.
Q: Which do you prefer — green juice or bubbly? Why?
Both! Green juice for the weekdays and bubbly for the weekend.
Q: If you received $1 million to use for your wellness/self-care, how would you spend it?
I would definitely spend it on luxury resorts! I went to Lake Austin Spa for my minihoneymoon and it was a dream. I would recreate that as many times as I could.
